A Compendium of Supernatural Entities Found in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School – Kuzhali Manickavel

Description

In a sweltering small town in Tamil Nadu, the Government Girls Higher Secondary School is crawling with supernatural beings. Thamarai, an outsider her classmates think is strange, is stuck in a dull, frustrating life of nosy neighbours, baffling tuition classes and a lecherous English teacher who harasses the girls in her year.

Then she finds a mysterious notebook cataloguing the school’s paranormal happenings — and wonders whether it might be her way out. Kuzhali Manickavel’s first novel is a darkly funny, wonderfully strange work of magical realism.
