Description
On 20 October 1962, in the Nam Ka Chu valley, soldiers of 2 Rajput, 7 Infantry and 1/9 Gorkha Rifles were attacked from the front and the rear by Chinese troops holding the heights above them — with poor cold-weather clothing, little ammunition and brutal terrain.
Drawing on archival records and his own writings, this is the story of that day by Major General Ashok Kalyan Verma, AVSM, who was commissioned into 2 Rajput and later became Colonel of the Rajput Regiment, with Shiv Kunal Verma, filmmaker and military historian and author of 1962: The War That Wasn’t and 1965: A Western Sunrise.
