Description

A beautiful two-volume box set celebrating two of the greatest Urdu poets of the twentieth century, Kaifi Azmi (1919–2002) and Jan Nisar Akhtar (1914–1976).

Daaera (The Circle) and Dhanak (The Rainbow) together present fifty nazms — twenty-five by each poet — selected by their children, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar. Each poem appears in the original Urdu in both Nastaliq and Devanagari scripts, alongside English translations by Sumantra Ghosal and Mir Ali Husain. A treasure for lovers of Urdu poetry, and a perfect gift.
